This was the first I had heard of Hildegard ... as a brilliant woman of myriad talents, she was given as an example of a polymath ... good word. Will use this for reference as I write a fiction which calls on *intelligence* from former lifetimes. I am so impressed with this woman, that I cannot be critical of the physical book or the quality of writing.... Read joy at this time.
Good service, complicated book.
Great quality and prompt shipping
This book is wonderfully readable considering that it leans toward the academic. Some of Newman's arguments reveal how very difficult it is to comprehend Hildegard's theology when we cannot fully appreciate her situation. But at least you won't feel that Newman is too sympathetic with Hildegard!A fun read, but not one that I would take as a definitive source.
I expected writings from St. Hildegard however it was more like a doctoral thesis. I will look further to find what I want.
